Computer Resources: Wireless Connection
new connections |  With wireless card  |  Things to know
If you have a laptop computer, you can now borrow a wireless card at the Reference Desk on the Library’s Second Level.

New Connections:

  • Present your library card and the reference staff will check out a “Wireless Kit” to you.
  • Follow the instructions on the inside of the kit for installing the software and card.
  • After installation the laptop should detect the “MORSE” network.
  • Log on to the Internet.

If you already have a laptop with a wireless card:

  • Turn on your laptop and check in “NETWORK NEIGHBORHOOD” that the TCP/IP setting is set to “obtain IP address automatically”.
  • Your wireless card should detect the “MORSE” network.
  • Log on to the Internet.

Things to Know:

  • The wireless network provides access to the Internet through the Minuteman Library Network homepage.
  • If you use the Minuteman databases you will be logged in as a “Home Access” user rather than an “In Library” user.
  • As all laptop computers are different, the Library cannot take responsibility for problems associated with installing new software or hardware. In addition, librarians are not available to assist with installation.
  • The Library recommends that you have updated anti-virus software before connecting to the Internet.
