| new connections | With wireless card | Things to know |
| If you have a laptop computer, you can now borrow a wireless card at the Reference Desk on the Library’s Second Level. |
New Connections:
- Present your library card and the reference staff will check out a “Wireless Kit” to you.
- Follow the instructions on the inside of the kit for installing the software and card.
- After installation the laptop should detect the “MORSE” network.
- Log on to the Internet.
If you already have a laptop with a wireless card:
- Turn on your laptop and check in “NETWORK NEIGHBORHOOD” that the TCP/IP setting is set to “obtain IP address automatically”.
- Your wireless card should detect the “MORSE” network.
- Log on to the Internet.
|
Things to Know:
- The wireless network provides access to the Internet through the Minuteman Library Network homepage.
- If you use the Minuteman databases you will be logged in as a “Home Access” user rather than an “In Library” user.
- As all laptop computers are different, the Library cannot take responsibility for problems associated with installing new software or hardware. In addition, librarians are not available to assist with installation.
- The Library recommends that you have updated anti-virus software before connecting to the Internet.
