Services to Patrons with Disabilities

All areas of the Morse Institute Library and the Bookmobile are fully accessible to all.

Visual Enhancement Equipment for Books and other Documents:

Optelec Color (CCTV) located in the Reference Department Magnifies small print, such as newspaper print. The magnifier has 20-inch display screen and a simplified control panel, with variable height adjustments. It switches easily from color to black and white.
Telesensory, black and white (CCTV) A portable, 14-inch black-and-white CCTV that magnifies small print.
Available at the Circulation Desk for check out.

Visual Aids:

Talking books, books-on-tape/CD located on First Level
Talking book cassette player located on First Level
Photocopiers that enlarge print located on each Level
Large Print books located on First Level
Large Print magazines and newspapers located on Second Level
Large Print computer keyboard and computer monitor located on the Second Level at the Reference Desk
Computer screen enlarger voice synthesizer software (LP for Windows) with Speech installed on all the public PCs
   

Hearing Aids:

TTY/TDD located in the Reference Department call 508-647-6521 to access this service
Personal assistive sound amplifier (Loud R) located in the Reference Department
Portable hearing enhancement system
(Phonic Ear) for all programs or meetings
in the Lebowitz Meeting Hall,
Lower Level.

Homebound Delivery Service:

Natick residents, who are unable to visit the Library because of a medical condition or disability, can make arrangements to have a Library staff member visit, bringing books and other materials. Visits are usually made once a month. Patrons can call ahead and place their order, or we can also select items for you by title or provide you with a selection based on your reading interests and preferences.
