Library Card Problems

You may not be able to use your library card in person or online for any of the following reasons:

Expired Card
Library cards expire every 5 years. To extend the expiration date of your card, you must verify that we still have your current address and contact information in your account.  Visit or call the Circulation Desk to update your card.

Account No Longer Exists
If you have not used your card to check out a book in a very long time, your account may have been deleted from the system. Just come to the library with photo id and address verification to reinstate your card.

Fines Over $5
Once you have accumulated $5 or more in fines, your card is "blocked." Bring the balance owed to under $5 by making a payment at the Circulation Desk (cash or check) or online through your account (credit card), and you will be able to use your card.

Assumed Lost Items
When items are more that 30 days overdue, they are "Assumed Lost" and bills for replacement are assessed to the account. "Assumed Lost" items must be returned or paid for in order to use your card.

If you have trouble using your card, contact the Circulation Department at 508-647-6520 for help.
