Circulation
Services
A Minuteman Library Network card allows you to borrow materials from
over 40 libraries in the MetroWest area.
Library
Cards
Library cards are available to any Massachusetts resident (for children,
please see below). To protect you and the member libraries of this
network, we must have acceptable identification and verification of
your current address to issue a library card.
For
identification purposes, we need to see a photo ID, such as a driver’s
license, passport, school ID, work ID, State ID, Sam’s Club
or BJs card, etc. An out-of-state driver’s license may be
used for identification purposes only.
If
your current address is not on your photo ID, for address verification
the following are acceptable: checkbook with current address; utility
bill; lease or mortgage documents; mail forwarded by the Post Office
(with their yellow forwarding label); an address verification postcard,
etc.
We
are sorry, but we cannot accept hand-addressed personal mail for
address verification. |
Checking
Out Material
Please
bring your library card.
You will need to have your Minuteman Library card or a valid photo
ID in order to check out library material.
Returning
Items
24-hour
book and media (audiovisual materials) drops are located on Clarendon
Street. If the street-side drops are full, mailbox type slots are
located on the ramp near the front entrance for both books and audiovisual
materials.

Renewals
Most
materials, except for Speed-Reads and DVDs, may be renewed once,
unless another Library user has requested the item.
You
may renew materials:
- in person at the Circulation Desk
- by phone (please have your library card number handy). Because
we have such a busy desk we can only renew 4 items over the phone
- over the Internet with a Personal Identification Number (PIN)
available at the Circulation desk

Loan
Periods
Most
items circulate for 3 weeks and may be renewed. The loan period for
Speed-Read titles is one week. New
fiction titles circulate for two weeks.
New: The loan period for DVDs is now two weeks. DVDs may not be renewed.
Self-Checkout Station for the Library
The Friends of the Library purchased a self-checkout station for Library patrons. This station is located to the left of the Circulation Desk (near the fish tank). There are handy signs available to guide you step by step as you check out your books. It will alert you to any fines owed or if a requested item is waiting for pickup.
The Library is accessible to all. If you require special accommodations, please contact us.
